Instructor -- James Dewhirst
James Dewhirst has lived in North Dakota, Colorado and California. He decided photography was his calling upon graduating from the University of Denver after he traveled to see some friends in New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji. While on his travels he photographed 120 rolls of film and figured if he made that many photographs he should look into photography as a career. He then decided to attend Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara where he obtained his Master of Fine Arts in Photography.

James is happy with a camera in his hand. Some of his favorite places to photograph are the plains of the Dakotas, barren landscapes and walking streets to capture everyday life. Professionally James exhibits fine art, photographs portraits, and photographs weddings with his wife.
