Students will learn to balance contrasting color, texture, pattern, tonal relationship and form while building confidence using personal brushwork. Use of warm and cool colors, wet-into-wet blending, glazing, perspective and palette organization provide the knowledge to complete a composition.
Supply list:
Suggested Oil or Acrylic Kit-Utrecht Professional Oil or Acrylic Kit (Dick Blick)
Add one tube Ultramarine Blue
Or use existing paints
Three (12" x 12" and/or 16" x 20") canvases
Two sable brushes: one-size 1 to 4 round and one filbert sable-size 4
Several medium size boar hair or synthetic filbert brushes, sizes 6 or 8
At least one pint of Stand Oil
At least one quart of Gamsol
One Greymatters disposable palette
One box of extra soft vine charcoal
One French stump-pointed on both ends
Two kneaded erasers
One pad smooth Bristol paper
Table or Standing Easel
Drawing board
*If using acrylic, one small bottle of Acrylic gloss medium
Three rolls of paper towels or soft rags
Jars: baby food or mustard jars and larger jars-two large/four to six small
