"The Earth Laughs in Flowers"--Ralph Waldo Emerson
As the earth wakes up from her winter sleep, we will be making pretty little posey post earrings for everyday wear. Your creations will be unique to you. You will be given a choice of various flower/petal shapes in different metals to texture, layer, solder, or create little faceted drops in your favorite stones.
We will use a micro-torch to solder layered metal shapes and attach them to a stainless-steel post. You will be taught everything you need to know to get from the rough shapes to an awesome little blossom. Come metalsmith with me and let's have some fun!

*This* is a love story. Artist Bren Glasure chooses to handwork each piece in her Tread the Terra artisan jewelry line, resulting in uniquely imperfect creations. She has been creating jewelry since the late 1980s, and has been metalsmithing since 2010. Glasure, who is largely self-taught, is bringing her joy of making to BAYarts by teaching metalsmithing classes to beginners and intermediate students. She loves to give her students choices for their designs, then teaches them how to build their skills to create their own unique pieces.
