INTRODUCTION TO OIL PAINTING

Discover the art of oil painting through engaging instruction focused on understanding materials, color theory, visual concepts, and brush technique. Perfect for beginners and those seeking to reinvigorate their artistic talent after a hiatus from painting. Each session will include demonstration and ample painting time and constructive individual feedback, allowing you to build confidence in your oil painting practice.
Supply list will be provided.
Amy received her B.F.A. from the University of Akron. Ten of her works are archived for the moon as part of the Lunar Codex Project. Her artwork has been featured in Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine and American Art Collector Magazine, and her work is internationally collected. She loves teaching and helping people reach their artistic goals.

PAINTS:
Small tubes 37ml
Any brand of Professional Colors is fine - (stay away from Master's Touch & artists loft
& Gamblin 1980)
Instructor note: I will be using Gamblin and Winsor & Newton
• Titanium White
• Ultramarine Blue
• Hansa Yellow Light
• Winsor & Newton Scarlet lake, or Cadmium Red Light
• Burnt Umber
• Winsor Newton Burnt Sienna
BRUSHES:
A variety of soft synthetic bristle
Any brushes you have or have a preference for are fine.
Instructor note: I will be using Hobby Lobby’s filberts and rounds.
• Synthetic Hog Filbert sizes: 2,6,8,10
• Synthetic Hog Round Size 2

SURFACES: 2 five-packs of canvas or canvas panels any brand 8x10
PALETTE: Palette (Disposable Palette Paper or a Glass Palette)
ADDITIONAL MATERIALS:
• Metal Palette Knife
• Small bottle of Refined linseed oil - any brand
• Small glass jelly jar to put the linseed oil into.
• Paper Towels
• A pizza box or something to carry your wet paintings home in
