Wake Up Your Surfaces! 
Jenny will lead a 2-day workshop and trek through the imaginative use of color and surface decoration. She will demo, present technique and talk about her process to help and inspire participants to develop a unique color palette and narrative of their own.

Saturday, students will hand build a simple structure like a mug, tumbler or vase plus a small dish in preparation to dry to leather hard overnight, ready to explore the surface to paint and decorate with underglaze the following day. This will be a creative and emotional exploration of the surface.

Jenny Mendes is a nationally and internationally known ceramic artist. She works using human and animal imagery to tell stories and works intuitively trusting the artistic flow. Her use of pattern and color is inspired by mythology and folk art .
