Cybersecurity Considerations and Foundations for Nonprofits

This workshop is meant for non-profits that are interested in learning more about cybersecurity and steps they should be taking to protect both their operations and their data.  Additionally, there may also be regulatory expectations on nonprofits in this area.  This FOUNDATIONS course will provide an overview of the landscape, provide basic considerations and tactics, and help nonprofits plan for the future.

Questions that will be explored withing this workshop:

  1. What is the current cybersecurity environment and how could they impact nonprofit organizations?
  2. What are the cybersecurity basics that nonprofit organizations should consider?
  3. What is a risk-based security strategy and how to implement?
  4. What role does senior leadership and non-IT areas play in a cybersecurity program?
  5. How to develop a cybersecurity strategy and/or roadmap?

    Terry Kaufman, founder of HopeNet CISO Services brings over 30 years of combined business and IT experience to his approaches to cybersecurity in modern organizations. His knowledge spans various industries, allowing him to tailor his approach based on each organization's unique context and objectives.

    Terry has a BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and a MS in Cybersecurity from Florida Tech. He also holds the CISSP, Associate C|CISO, and CCSK certifications.
