LEARNING LAB: Understanding and Assessing Financial Health
To truly be a financial leader, one must be able to read financial statements. This workshop is designed to increase the financial understanding of all participants by removing the jargon so they can read and understand financial statements. This webinar will dive deeper into understanding the differences between cash and accrual accounting, highlighting the importance of monitoring cash flow. We’ll also use the financial statements to calculate key ratios to assess both immediate and long-term financial health. In doing so, we’ll discover important trending tools such as the current ratio and quick ratio, define and highlight the importance of reserves and lead a discussion on an appropriate level for reserves.
Following this session, participants will understand:
- How to read the Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Activities
- The difference between accrual and cash accounting and the importance of each
- How to utilize financial statements to calculate ratios that assess immediate and long-term financial health
