Course Description

In this class you will learn everything you need to know to paint luminous watercolors with ease. Learn to capture and create the beauty and radiance of watercolor painting from a master artist. Annie Strack is passionate about teaching watercolor painting and will provide you with personalized watercolor instruction as she walks you through the essential techniques and the foundational concepts of watercolor painting. This class will include demos, discussions, individual instruction and both personal and group critiques. Something for artists of every level!

Required Supplies

Materials list:
• Watercolor paper, at least 140# or heavier.
• Several smaller scraps or a small pad of watercolor paper, for practicing brush strokes
• Removable masking fluid
• HB pencil
• White plastic/vinyl eraser
• water containers
• Paper towels
• 1" flat watercolor brush
• Large round brushes, at least one should be #12 or larger
• Paints: Indigo, Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Payne's Grey, Sepia, Olive Green, Violet, Yellow Ochre, a warm and a cool red, and any other colors you like to use. Click here to see the colors I use most often!

Annie Strack

Annie's Website Annie Strack earned Signature Membership in 13 organizations including the International Society of Marine Painters, International Plein Air Painters, and she’s an Official Authorized Artist for the USCG. She exhibits internationally and has had 22 solo shows. An experienced commercial artist, she’s created designs for countless businesses and produced architectural renderings for architects and contractors. She’s the author of The Artists Guide to Business & Marketing, contributing editor for Professional Artist Magazine, and her DVD Painting Seascapes in Watercolor is broadcast on TV stations worldwide. She teaches painting at Artists Network University and travels around the world to teach workshops, jury shows, & paint en plein air. She’s an artist materials expert and represents artist supply companies to present programs at schools, art centers, and art stores. Her artwork has received hundreds of awards and hangs in over 1,000 collections worldwide including USCG, Navy, Pentagon, Senate, and Veterans Administration.
