Course Description

Everyone has them - those paintings that just do not work but yet there is something beautiful in them. These lost watercolors will become the base for a mixed media collage. We will revive, reinvent, and save those special parts while creating a new innovative work.

Required Supplies

Bring your usual water media supplies, lost water media paintings and a sheet of either 300 lb watercolor paper or a sheet of Strathmore Plate Bristol 4ply series 500. Instructor will bring special paints, papers, Matt medium and texture mediums, grounds, metallics, alcohol inks and much more for students to experiment with.

Deena Ball

Deena Ball's Website Deena S. Ball is a teaching and exhibiting fine artist in the Philadelphia area. Current exhibitions are primarily watercolor landscapes, many of which use a textured ground on Strathmore Plate Bristol, Ampersand Board or Yupo synthetic paper. She exhibits in numerous galleries throughout the mid-Atlantic region, as well as art festivals, juried and invitational nationwide shows. Most recently her work was included in the National Watercolor Society's exhibition in California. Deena's innovative watercolor paintings have been published in Splash 12 and Splash 13. An article about her paintings and techniques appeared in Watercolor Artist Magazine in 2012 and 2013.
