Students gain experience with acrylic paint on both paper and canvas and use a variety of techniques to change the way paint moves across the surface. Students experiment with water to thin paint, create underpaintings as a base to build layers of paint, and add thick paint to selected areas of focus. Color is examined through mixing the warm and cool version for each primary color. Group demonstrations show students how to work each technique and individual feedback is given during painting time. Students leave with two paintings and the ability to work with acrylic paint in future paintings. Taught by Haddonfield teaching artist Jenny Graham-Hougah.
