Joy of Watercolor
Spring Class | This course is completed
Discover the luminosity and creative nuances of watercolor in a supportive environment. Students will work in a classic transparent watercolor manner by building up a painting in three major value passes, thus stressing the beautiful subtle color variations and luminosity that make this medium unique.
Joy of Watercolor will include frequent demonstrations and information on watercolor history and painters practicing today. Each class will start with a brief fun painting exercise on a topic in watercolor painting such as value, color mixing, brushstrokes, composition, pigment properties. The collection of these 8 x 10 paintings will create a reference book for students to use throughout this course and for the future.
Students are encouraged to bring in their own reference material for the second portion of each class. The class atmosphere is relaxed with plenty of individual attention enabling all levels of watercolor student to learn and advance their painting techniques.
