Inspired by nature, draw from plants and flowers of your own choosing and turn your flora selection into hand-lettering. Artist Sasha Prood will guide students through this process, introducing her personal style of representational lettering. Her approach focuses on turning objects into type, while balancing both the clarity of the object and the legibility of the type. Sasha will describe several different ways to create this representational lettering before helping students develop their won type art. Students will bring their personal aesthetic and favorite art materials to this style of lettering, giving it their own unique twist.

Please bring the art materials you enjoy working with - they can be anything from watercolor paints, to markers, to collage supplies. Students will leave this workshop with lettering projects that can make beautiful framed wall art!
