Join us for a safe, physically distant yoga practice is our spacious Duke Gallery!

We will explore a heart opening practice to cultivate kindness towards ourselves and others. This 2-hour workshop will include movement, meditation and discussion. We will explore awareness in our bodies and breath, using yoga asana to move our bodies. We will discuss how our yoga practice can offer support for our lives and how we can use yoga concepts to work for positive change in our world.

This practice can be done on a mat or in a chair. We will end the workshop with a Metta Meditation (loving kindness) and some time for students to journal privately.

  • Please Note:  This class is planned as an in person class and we expect that it will run the full semester in person.  However, there is an ongoing need to adhere to guidance and safety practices in order to safely manage the COVID-19 situation.  The guidelines from state government and public health authorities change as time progresses and the CAC may need to make adjustments accordingly.  It is possible that this class will transition to an online format at some point during the semester.  In this case, tuition refunds will not be issued unless the CAC is unable to provide the same number of class sessions as initially planned either in person or in a remote format.
  • Please wear comfortable clothing and bring water, a yoga mat a blanket or two, and a cushion or small pillow. Also recommended is a writing utensil and journal. You may also want to bring a yoga block (a books is a good substitute), but this is optional.

Jennifer started practicing yoga over eight years ago as a way to help with anxiety. After attending her first class she was knew it was the right decision and over the years her practice has become a huge part of her life. In 2015 she completed her 200 Hour Teacher Training at Enso in Media PA. She believes yoga can be a practice for everybody and strives to make her classes accessible for anyone who wished to attend. She teaches power yoga, gentle flow yoga and vinyasa style. Modifications are always offered and encouraged. In April of 2018 Jennifer completed a certification program in Trauma-Informed Lens Yoga. She believes that each individual who attends her classes is the expert of their own body. Jennifer hopes her classes allow for opportunities to explore in movement as well as in stillness.
