Course Description

In this monotype workshop we will use Akua Inks and utilize botanical elements and textiles in our printing. Students can also produce imagery from photos or sketches. Printing is done on the press.

Special Notes

Please Note: This class is planned as an in person class and we expect that it will run the full semester in person. However, there is an ongoing need to adhere to guidance and safety practices in order to safely manage the COVID-19 situation. The guidelines from state government and public health authorities change as time progresses and the CAC may need to make adjustments accordingly. It is possible that this class will transition to an online format at some point during the semester. In this case, tuition refunds will not be issued unless the CAC is unable to provide the same number of class sessions as initially planned either in person or in a remote format.

Required Supplies

Please bring botanical samples that are sturdy enough to withstand a printing press. If you are interested in making traditional monotypes please bring sketches or photos. All other supplies are provided.

Lisa BurgerLentz' Website I am a graduate of the Certificate program at PAFA in painting and printmaking. I participate in several area Plein Air painting events such as Saranac Plein Air Festival and Brandywine Valley Plein Air. I am a printshop assistant at PAFA on Wednesday nights in exchange for access to the printshop. I have taught drawing at various art centers including CAC and have recently begun teaching Printmaking 101 at CAC.
