Course Description

Beautiful Colors, exciting patterns. Have you been curious about using colored clay in your work? We will learn different ways to make colored clay, and numerous ways to put colored clay together for some amazing pieces.

Special Notes

Clay not included in lab fee.
Please Note: This class is planned as an in person class and we expect that it will run the full semester in person. However, there is an ongoing need to adhere to guidance and safety practices in order to safely manage the COVID-19 situation. The guidelines from state government and public health authorities change as time progresses and the CAC may need to make adjustments accordingly. It is possible that this class will transition to an online format at some point during the semester. In this case, tuition refunds will not be issued unless the CAC is unable to provide the same number of class sessions as initially planned either in person or in a remote format.

Required Supplies

Please bring a bag of 257 porcelain and basic clay tools to class. If you don't usually use porcelain, please contact Tracy at tracy@communityartscenter.org and we can find a solution. There will be an additional charge for use of instructors clay.

Nadia's Webpage Working as an Interior Designer for more than thirty years has given me a love of grace and line that I try to incorporate into the pieces that I throw. I consider myself not just a potter, but an artist trying to find beauty in the clay. Recently, I have been experimenting with combining my love of hand building, and sculpting clay with the pieces I throw on the wheel. This has taken my work into a new and exciting level of design. I believe we never stop learning. Everyday is a new day to explore the clay, and learn how far we can push and pull our way to a beautiful work of art.
