Course Description

Join Nancy to explore your creativity and build your skills in this 4-day mixed media workshop. Collage elements along with mixed media techniques will be emphasized in this workshop. You will be combining paint, collage, image transfers, as well as some very basic printmaking elements to the method of painting you are familiar with, or you may choose to go totally abstract. The choice is yours!

Special Notes

Please Note: This class is planned as an in person class and we expect that it will run the full semester in person. However, there is an ongoing need to adhere to guidance and safety practices in order to safely manage the COVID-19 situation. The guidelines from state government and public health authorities change as time progresses and the CAC may need to make adjustments accordingly. It is possible that this class will transition to an online format at some point during the semester. In this case, tuition refunds will not be issued unless the CAC is unable to provide the same number of class sessions as initially planned either in person or in a remote format.

Required Supplies

Gel medium, acrylic paints, fluid acrylic inks, watercolor paper or canvas to work on, stamps that you have created or commercial stamps for printmaking, waxed paper, tissue paper and/or any collage papers of thin fabric that you may have.

Nancy uses joint applicators, not brushes. You can buy them at Home Depot or Lowes in the drywall department. Get the cheap plastic ones.

Nancy Barch's Website Nancy has taught at CAC for over 12 years. She teaches both yearly classes and workshops of various media. As a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, and the Philadelphia Water Color Society, the work of Delaware County Artist Nancy has traversed the United States. She has garnered a number of coveted awards for her work in a variety a media including Best of Show in the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society.
