Explore the painterly printmaking technique of monotype. In this class, the participants will create unique works on paper. Printing presses and hand printing will be used to make images. Painterly images can be achieved with a variety of tools. Collage type images can be achieved with textiles and botanical materials. Different tools can be used to achieve various effects.

  • Class Dates are: 10/4, 10/18, 10/25 (no class on 10/11)
    Please Note:  This class is planned as an in person class and we expect that it will run the full semester in person.  However, there is an ongoing need to adhere to guidance and safety practices in order to safely manage the COVID-19 situation.  The guidelines from state government and public health authorities change as time progresses and the CAC may need to make adjustments accordingly.  It is possible that this class will transition to an online format at some point during the semester.  In this case, tuition refunds will not be issued unless the CAC is unable to provide the same number of class sessions as initially planned either in person or in a remote format.
  • Please bring a 11"x14" newsprint pad for transporting your prints. Photos, sketches, or paintings can be used for references or your imagination. Many tools are in the printshop. Paper and Akua inks will be available by the instructor. Textiles and printing surfaces are in the printshop.
