Wheel Throwing & Much More!

Fall Class | This course is completed

This class will boost your confidence as you learn new throwing skills that eliminate trouble spots like heavy bottoms, uneven walls, awkward handles and ill-fitting lids to name a few. We will also explore altering wheel thrown pieces along with some hand building ideas. We will end the semester with a RAKU firing!  All levels are welcome.

Artist Statement

I am an artist; it’s not what I do, but simply who I am and always have been. I started with two dimensional art, and still work as a graphic designer, then I touched clay! I molded, I pinched, threw, manipulated, wedged, pressed, paddled, assembled . . . clay. I loved the feel of it. The simplicity. Clay drew me in and has yet to let me go! I embraced the joy and therapy of “playing in clay.” My work has often been described as animated. I attribute the “life” in my pieces to my ability to keep it fun and playfully loose.

I now enjoy sharing that joy of  “playing in clay” through teaching at The Community Art Center.
