Course Description

Learn the basics of making bowls, cups, vases and plates in a freiendly and supportive atmosphere. More experienced students can try multi-part pots, soup tureens (including the ladle!), teapots, etc. Feel free to bring in your own ideas. Also elements of design and function are emphasized along with lots of student interaction.

Special Notes

Clay not included. Clay purchased with your class must be taken this semester. Clay purchased do not carry over from one semester to another. Clay can be purchased in the office as needed through the semester.

Basic clay tools, which can be purchased at CAC.
NO CLASS: March 25th - 30th
MAKE-UP CLASS: for Memorial Day June10th

Carol's Webpage Carol Seymour has been with the CAC for nearly 40 years and the ceramics coordinator since 2000. She is also a member's of the Potter's Guild. "I love making functional everyday pottery. The feel of forming a bowl or a pitcher, and the thrill of hearing that someone has been using my pots for years never gets old. And being able to transmit my skills and my passion to students is very rewarding. Who could ask for anything more?"
