Do you play an instrument? Have you always wanted to sing or be in a rock band? Learn what it's like to be a part of a band and prepare for a musical showcase! Learn to play rock staples by such legendary bands as The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin! This music-based camp is for the camper who has at least one year of music lesson experience (or equivalent) if you play an instrument, and no experience necessary if you are a singer. The camp covers the fundamentals of rock performance, including guitar power chords, bass riffs, backbeat-driven rhythms, and emotive vocals. In addition to daily jams, band rehearsals, and general music instruction, we will listen to music and watch concert films as well as participate in several fun arts activities, including designing a band logo and name, posing for a band photo, and tie-dying band t-shirts! We play ultimate frisbee and other fun outdoor sports/games for our afternoon breaks! Participating instruments have been: guitar, bass, keyboard, drums/percussion, strings (violin, cello, etc.) vocals, and many more! It can be a great opportunity for you to try out a secondary instrument The camp-culminating music showcase concert is open to family and friends. Be sure to bring a lunch, drink and snack. Please be sure to fill out our musican's questionnaire when applying.
