In this new hand-building workshop we will sculpt abstract or functional pieces, with form and texture inspired by nature. Seed pods, shells, rocks, leaves, bark, flowers, etc…are objects to consider as a jumping off point. Come to class with your found objects and favorite clay so you are ready to get to work. Current students are welcome to carry on as they may or explore this workshop concept.

  • Clay is not included in lab fee.

  • Please bring basic clay tools, available for purchase at the CAC.

Wendy Liss is an artist, designer, and educator. Her current work consists of hand-built ceramic sculptures and outdoor installations that explore various clay bodies and firing methods. Inspired by nature and the human figure, Liss works out of her studio in the suburbs of Philadelphia where her creative process is driven by the energy and environment she is in.

Liss earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts (‘84) and an Art Education Certification(‘85) from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, PA.

Her work is shown throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and is available through InLiquid, The Art Shop at Moore College of Art and Design, and Parisa Rugs & Decor in Old City Philadelphia.
