Guitar for beginners is designed for people who have never played guitar. This class will teach you how to hold the guitar, tuning, and some simple chords you can use to play popular songs. We'll also cover different kinds of music and guitar tabs you can access online to teach yourself songs. Students will need their own guitar to take the class.

I’ve been playing the guitar for twenty-eight years now and studied with a variety of teachers including Bob Ferguson and Michael Harris. I began teaching guitar lessons when I was a sophomore at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. I graduated with a B.A. in Communications and then moved to the Boston area in 1997 and began working full time as a guitar teacher within a few months. Since then, I’ve also played in a variety of original and cover bands and written a number of songs of my own. I'm currently playing in two bands - the Garage Bandits and the Chip Cofone Band, both cover bands. I generally play 4-8 gigs a month with them in the Philly suburbs and surrounding area. I also released an album called Blue Sky Lightning in 2022 which you can find on Spotify and most streaming services.
