Laetitia Pineda (b. 1978) — France
Laetitia leads a simple life in the heart of the forest. Her way of ceramics is deeply inspired by nature and closely intertwined with the tradition of tea. She slowly handshapes each piece from clay harvested in the wild, dedicating great care to the modeling process before entrusting them to the fire.
Natural raw materials, including clay, rocks, minerals, and ashes, are also used to create her glazes. The unpredictable nature of wood kilns is integral to her work. She fires her pieces at both low temperatures and in wood-and-charcoal kilns at much higher temperatures, where natural ashes are deposited onto the surfaces of the clay.
