Luster Workshop
Spring Workshop | Available
Experiment in the exciting world of low fire glazes. Luster glazes go back 1000 years. They have the ability to trap and reflect light in golds, reds and a rainbow of colors creating magnificent beauty. This ancient art is closely connected with alchemy and the art of turning copper into gold. It can provide bold intense metallic colors and beautiful translucent watercolor effects. Come experiment with these low fire glazes and experience their surprising results.
Please note that the location for this workshop will be at the Potters Guild.
We will work outside. Each student is required to wear a respirator mask (full face gas masks with 2029 cartridges) for organic vapor, paint, chemical, dust, fume is mandatory for this class. If you do not already have one, you must obtain one and bring it to the workshop with you.
