Course Description

Join a lively group of weekend potters of varying experience. Beginners always welcomed. Learn to make and glaze bowls, cups, vases and plates. Challenge yourself with guidance to go bigger or fancier. Elements of design and function are emphasized and lots of individual attention is available.

Special Notes

Clay is not included in lab fee. Clay is to be purchased through the office. Purchase can be made via email, by phone and/or in person during office hours. Please note specific clay body when placing order. Porcelain clay bodies (257 and 437) are priced at $60 per unit. Non-porcelain clay bodies are priced at $35 per unit. Purchase in advance of class and present receipt to instructor before collecting clay.

Required Supplies

Students should bring a notebook, a 2 – 2 ½ gallon bucket with lid, an old towel, and some basic clay tools (which can be purchased at CAC).

Carol's Webpage Carol Seymour has been with the CAC for nearly 40 years and the ceramics coordinator since 2000. She is also a member's of the Potter's Guild. "I love making functional everyday pottery. The feel of forming a bowl or a pitcher, and the thrill of hearing that someone has been using my pots for years never gets old.
