Beginner Stained Glass- Making a Sun Catcher
Fall Workshop | Registration opens Wednesday, August 6, 2025 12:00 AM EDT
During this workshop you will learn to use basic glass tools - the cutter, running pliers, grozers and breaking pliers. You will practice scoring glass and learn various ways to break glass apart. Finally, you will learn to cut curves and follow a pattern. Once you learn the basics of glass cutting you can dive into the world of glass art. You will choose a pattern and create a suncatcher of your own.
- This workshop is 2 consecutive Saturdays.
Close toed shoes are required for this workshop.
- All materials and tools will be provided.
Charles Mohnacky
Charles Mohnacky is a retired music educator and arts advocate with over three decades of
experience in instrumental music instruction and program leadership. After retiring from
teaching, he took on stained glass as a hobby. Since then, he spent several years working in a
small studio in West Virginia gaining experience in stained glass repair and retail sales. Charles
operates a small online stained-glass business and has also accepted commissions, restoration
projects, and repairs in and around Drexel Park area. Charles is a member of the Pennsylvania
and Havertown Guild of Craftsmen and serves in the board of directors with the Upper Darby
Arts and Education Foundation.
