Watercolor for Kids

Greetings! This 8-week class is geared towards children interested in learning about watercolor. We will be covering the basics including learning about the color wheel, and developing our skill along the way. Each class students will be making fun and creative paintings, ranging from landscape, to still life and portrait. At the end of the last class students will host a family art show to exhibit their works.

Stephen Coleman
My name is Stephen Coleman, and I am an instructor at the Community Arts Center. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Widener University have extensive experience as teaching artist.
For over 10 years, I have taught art at various organizations, including PAFA (the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts), the Philadelphia Sketch Club, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Main line Art Center.
My specialty is painting - specifically watercolor and drawing. I also enjoy learning about other artistic methods and disciplines.
I have taught all age groups from elementary school student to adults. I enjoy teaching art to others and allowing them to express themselves. My goal as an instructor is to ensure that my students learn, enjoy and challenge themselves through my classes.
