Monotype Printmaking
Winter Class | Available
Printmaking practices and concepts will be explored using the technique of Monotype. Monotype is a form of printmaking where an image is painted on a surface or matrix, such as an acrylic plate. The image is transferred to paper either by rubbing or using a press. A second image or ghost image can also be printed.
- Students can bring any printmaking materials they have or want to bring, tools, paper, etc.
- Please bring $5 for a materials fee paid to instructor on the 1st day of class to access printmaking paper and Akua inks. The instructor provides Akua Inks which are water soluble with less toxic cleanup. The print studio has some tools, reference materials and printing presses.
- A newsprint pad is convenient for transporting wet prints.
- Bring photos and personal artwork for references.
