Nita Engle Techniques for Watercolor

Course Description

On day one we will review Nita Engle's 3-way and 5-way wash techniques using a spray bottle, foliage toss, masking, and drawing with a stick. On days two and three participants can choose to paint along with the instructor OR design and follow their own plan. Students that wish to create their own composition are encouraged to bring photos as source images.

Required Supplies

Please bring:
- A set of tube watercolors. Engle palette is best (handprint : nita engle palette)
- Watercolor gear including brushes, palette, and containers for water
- One 1/4 to 1/2 sheet Arches 140 lb cold pressed (CP) paper, stretched
- One 1/2 to full sheet (22"x30") Arches 140 lb cold pressed (CP) paper, stretched
- Pebo drawing gum

Jane Miluski's Website Jane has co-taught plein air workshops in Tuscany, Scotland and Sicily, and has taken groups to Jamaica to paint on location. She also conducts workshops for groups in the tri-state area. Her work was featured in “American Artist” magazine in 2004. A signature member of both the Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Watercolor Societies, she was the first woman elected president of the Philadelphia Watercolor Society. She has also served on the boards of the Rittenhouse Square Fine Arts Annual, the Delaware Valley Art League, the Artists’ Guild of Delaware County, and the Community Arts Center. http://www.janebmiluski.com/
