Glazing for Electric Kiln

Spring Workshop | Available

Explore new electric glazing techniques and combinations. We will cover glazing and under glazing, while learning tips and tricks which make glazing faster and easier. You will learn how to test new glaze combinations and explore a number of different techniques for layering glazes.

SCHEDULE NOTE: This 3-week workshop will meet on the following Thursdays: 5/14, 5/21 & 5/28.

 

  • You will not need to purchase or bring clay because you will not be making pieces in this class.
    We will be concentrating on Electric Glazes. Please make sure your bisqueware is made with clay appropriate for cone 6 firing.
    You will not receive a cubby for this class.

  • Please bring:
    Bisqueware (pots made with clay appropriate for cone 6 firing that have been bisque fired) and/or test tiles
    Hand towels for wiping your hands
    Notebook and pen for taking notes

In Cecilia’s life pottery has served as an essential, restorative outlet.  She has worked on and off at the CAC for many years, both as a student and as a Ceramic Studio Technician.  In her own work, Cecilia focuses heavily on the form, functionality and feel of her pieces.
