i-Teen Abstract Gestural Mark Making Session 1

Course Description

Students will explore new perspectives and creative voices by focusing on abstraction over representational styles of art. Through a variety of mediums, including ink, graphite, charcoal, and paint, we will study the simplification of forms, minimalist mark making, and exaggeration of value & color to create new meaning. Students should be prepared to work in both large and small scale, engaging your whole body (accommodations and adjustments can always be made), getting your clothes dirty, and collaborating on art pieces as a class.
