Yoga and Mindfulness for Children
Summer Class | Available
In this story-centered yoga and mindfulness program, children explore movement, imagination, and reflection through beautiful works of children’s literature. Each story becomes a seed for discovering courage, belonging, and care for the natural world. Students learn traditional yoga poses with their Sanskrit names to develop strength, coordination, balance, and flexibility while engaging in mindful breathing, art making, and cooperative games. The class nurtures confidence, curiosity, and a deep love of yoga by linking physical practice with creativity, empathy, and joyful community.
Students are encouraged to bring a packed lunch or snack and a water bottle.
*This class pairs well with Kate White's Intergenerational Clay meeting from 10:00am-12:30pm earlier in the day! Kids can spend Saturday morning and afternoon learning and playing at CAC!
This is a 7-week course meeting on nonconsecutive Saturdays from 6/27/2026 to 8/22/2026.
No class on 7/4/2026 due to CAC Closure for the 4th of July Holiday.

Lisa Campbell
Hi there! My name is Lisa Campbell and I'm an educator and youth yoga instructor. I discovered yoga in my twenties, around the same time that I began teaching in classrooms. My own practice inspired me to bring the joy of yoga to children. I have completed courses in Yoga Calm, an approach to teaching yoga, mindfulness practices and social-emotional skills to children in educational and therapeutic settings. I have a bachelor's degree in Counseling and master's degrees in Early Childhood Education and Educational Leadership. My passion is creating communities where children can discover inner strengths through yoga.
