Flipbooking for ages 9-12

Fall Class | Registration opens Wednesday, August 5, 2026 6:00 AM EDT

In Flipbooking, students will be shown how to create flipbooks and given the chance to experiment with a wide variety of artistic materials. This class will place an emphasis on student curiosity, experimentation, and discovery as they introduce themselves to animation as an art form, with the instructor acting as a gentle guide through the process.

Schedule Notes:
This class meets 12 times on nonconsecutive Thursdays from 9/17/26 to 12/10/26.
No class on Thursday 11/26/26.
The Community Arts Center will be closed for Thanksgiving Break from 11/26/26-11/28/26.

  • Guardians must complete a Student Information Form for each child (below the age of 18) attending a semester class or workshop.

    Fill out, sign, and email the form to info@communityartscenter.org. This form must be returned to the CAC office BEFORE the first class date.
    If your child will not be attending a class, please let the office know by calling 610-566-1713 x11 or emailing info@communityartscenter.org.
  • All materials will be provided in class.
    *The $15 materials fee paid during registration covers a sketchbook for each child which they can keep, and access to other art supplies in class.
Aidan Chen

'Aidan is a multi-disciplinary freelance animator. Born in Delaware County and graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design with an Award of Distinction from their Film/Animation/Video Department, his films have been selected for screenings in film festivals worldwide. Having taken classes at the CAC as a child, he now seeks to give back to the community. Aidan was previously the substitute teacher for Cartooning, as well as an aide for its most recent Summer Spree.
