Shibori Dyeing with Sue Fox Mitrano
Fall Workshop | Available
In this beginner friendly workshop, you’ll learn the art of Shibori, a Japanese manual hand-dyeing technique which produces beautiful patterns in fabric in a range of blues using Indigo dye.
Four (4) different patterns will be taught - you’ll choose two techniques to prep your fabrics.
Students may choose one of these three options:
- Two Silk scarves - One 8"x72" silk scarf and One 11"x60" scarf
- OR two 18"x18" cotton pillow covers w/zippers
- OR one large cotton tote bag w/pocket 19"x17"x9.5"
Guaranteed to be a lot of fun and each piece will truly be a one-of-a-kind!
- Students will need to pay a $35 materials fee directly to the instructor in the workshop for the products for dyeing and other workshop materials. (This materials fee is not collected during the registration process).
- Please bring a $35 materials fee to pay the instructor for supplies coordinated for each student (products for dyeing, etc.).
Students should dress for mess, as Indigo dye stains permanently.
Bring 12-13" long rubber gloves if available. Some gloves will be available to borrow.
