Hana Vater
I’m a professional artist, painter, graphic designer and an Art educator with more than 20 years of experience. In 1986 I graduated from Academy of Art Latvia with a Bachelor and Master Degree in Fine Arts. I combine my lifelong dedication to oil painting with educating the younger generation the basics of visual arts. My preferred techniques include pastels, acrylic paints and watercolor. I also teach collage and also sculpting with modeling clay; formats which I find are loved by the young. Since each student's vision of Nature is individual, my goal is to provide the young with tools to enhance their artistic potentials; open them to the dynamics of color and line by which they will be able to express their creativity, with significant emphasis on accuracy and preciseness of a linear drawing, proper attention to the detail, character of the depicted object, spatial perspective and figurative body proportions.
One of my favorite teaching methods is the rendition of classic artworks, including abstract paintings. I have work with Latvian, Israeli and American children and teenagers. I love to teach Art to students of different cultural backgrounds. I have experience in teaching painting, drawing, collage, clay molding and crafting to children ages 4 to 12.
