Course Description

Uncork your wine or beer and RELAX! No artistic talent or prior knowledge of ceramics needed for this BYO class! Join us for an evening of fun and exploration with guided instruction from artist, Bridget Hughes. Bridget will provide you with instructions for an optional project, but you are welcome to create your own work as well. Finished pieces will be glazed and fired in your choice of colors. Come by yourself or gather a group of friends for this fun Friday night in the ceramic studio! Fee includes, clay, glazes and firing.

Special Notes

Please Note: This class is planned as an in person class and we expect that it will run the full semester in person. However, there is an ongoing need to adhere to guidance and safety practices in order to safely manage the COVID-19 situation. The guidelines from state government and public health authorities change as time progresses and the CAC may need to make adjustments accordingly. It is possible that this class will transition to an online format at some point during the semester. In this case, tuition refunds will not be issued unless the CAC is unable to provide the same number of class sessions as initially planned either in person or in a remote format.

Required Supplies

Clay, glazing and firing are included. There will be tools to borrow.

Bridget Hughes' Webpage When I started working with clay in 1996, it was the once a week creative outlet I had while working multiple jobs. It continued this way for many years although the jobs were eventually replaced with multiple children. As my children grew older and I could devote more time to clay, my hobby became my passion. I was an Associate at the Community Arts Center in Wallingford for many years before becoming a member of the Potters Guild. I teach hand-building at the Community Arts Center and sell my work both locally and nationally.
