This is a student-centered course for individuals that are looking to bring some beauty, creativity and mindfulness to their busy lives. Each Wednesday, take a 2-hour "Long Lunch Break" from 11-1 and learn how to paint landscapes in watercolor. This class introduces basic watercolor techniques while emphasizing observation, mindfulness, experimentation and play. Individuals that work from home, those with limited mobility, and those that just don't have time to take an in-person class (or spend lots of time "down the Shore") are especially encouraged to join! All of our meetings will be recorded so that if you need to miss a class you can catch up on your own time.

  • This is an online class presented using Zoom. Online Zoom class information will be sent to you upon registration. Zoom is free and easy to use! The CAC will provide you with information on how to use Zoom if needed.
  • *Note: We will have a conversation about materials and supplies for our first class, so if you are uncertain about what to buy you are welcome to wait before purchasing anything. Whatever remaining time is left over on this day will be used to begin a few basic painting exercises which you can work practice later in your own time.
  • - Computer or tablet equipped for Zoom.
  • - Portable watercolor kit that includes at least 12 colors including black and white. Low budget brand recommendation: Yarka. High budget brand recommendation: Windsor Newtown or Koi. Tubes or pans are both fine!
  • - Set of watercolor paintbrushes (assorted shapes and sizes)
