Learn to create luminescent dramatic skies in watercolor. In the morning students will analyze various paintings with dramatic skies and then complete a series of painting exercises. Our goal will be to use the unique properties of watercolor paint to our advantage in creating dramatic skies.

In the afternoon, each student will start working on a painting where the dramatic sky is the subject matter. Students will be guided through the process of creating the prep work, value studies, compositional studies and color studies so you are ready to sit down and paint the painting on your own!

  • The workshop will run from 10 am to 12 pm. Students will have a break from 12 to 1 pm. The afternoon session will run from 1 to 3 pm.
