Clay is so fun to play with, and the basics are vital! Learn the building blocks of any good hand-built clay sculpture, beyond the “basic” pinch pot to slabs, coils, and how to create a stable piece. More experienced sculptors can learn variations on these forms, perfect their techniques, and transform the familiar into something entirely new!

Alessia O’Brien is a ceramicist and printmaker based in Melrose, MA. Their approach to art is tactile, organic, and fun, with a soft spot for functional work. They graduated from the New Hampshire Institute of Art in 2016, and have been a working artist since.
