Ever want to take a selfie to commemorate an event, to show off a new look, or simply to see who you are right now, and it never looks quite right? Still not comfortable with how you look on camera, or the technologies available to you to take pictures of yourself on your cell phone? Students will exit this workshop more comfortable photographing others, and with a small portfolio of Awesome Selfies for Facebook, LinkedIn, wallpaper, 40-foot photographic prints, artistic reference or whatever serves their needs best.

Required Materials: A smartphone with a working camera, a gmail account, with the Gmail and Google Drive apps installed, and something to write on. Laptop or tablet optional.

Lydia Gyurina is an emerging graphic designer, animator, photographer, and artist living & working in and around Melrose, MA. Her background is in animation & video from the fine-art side of things, and she currently works in the hazy space known as Digital Arts (or if you like, Media Arts). She holds a degree in Kinetic Imaging (animation & video) from Virginia Commonwealth University, and her fine art practice revolves around ideas of solipsism, neutrality & neatness, and “the sincerity of awkwardness & the awkwardness of sincerity."
