Pacing and the manipulation of time is a critical aspect of story-telling. But how do writers decide when to begin the story, when to slow down, speed up or project events in the future? How does pacing and timing increase drama, intensity and meaning? We'll take a look at a few examples of time manipulation in the hands of published authors and try manipulating our own narratives using various prompts and exercises.
