They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so have you ever tried to write ’em? In this Monthly Writing Session, we will lean on methods borrowed from Kiese Laymon and Nick Flynn, writing ourselves into an image and writing from an image in our memory. This session is cross genre, appropriate for nonfiction, fiction, and poetry.

Theresa Okokon, originally from Wisconsin, is an essayist, storyteller, a cohost of GBH’s “Stories from the Stage,” and teacher whose experience with personal narrative will deepen Follow Your Art’s writing programming over the next year. Okokon came to writing through storytelling, and is eager to share both with the community. Learn more about Theresa here: www.theresaokokon.com
