Poet Porsche Olayiwola once said that she loves revisions because the word itself (re - vision) is an invitation to focus on the intention of our work. In other words, revision is not about editing for grammar, it’s about looking at what your piece is trying to say and eliminating extras. In this session, we will lean on Matthew Salesses's CRAFT IN THE REAL WORLD to think about revision approaches that question Western notions of how a story must progress and get at the heart of your story. Intended for fiction and nonfiction, and poets too.

Writers should bring one piece of writing that is at the beginning of a revision phase.
