AI Master Class 2: Build It and Launch It—Creating Applications with AI

Turn your ideas into working applications and websites using artificial intelligence. This hands-on master class includes two complementary, two-hour sessions that guide participants from creating an application to publishing it online. No previous programming experience is required.

Part One: Build It—Creating Applications with ChatGPT introduces AI-assisted application development. Participants will use ChatGPT to create and run simple applications on their computers, refine features, and troubleshoot problems. Guided activities will explore standalone HTML tools, local automations, and connecting applications to AI services, including audio transcription.

Part Two: Launch It—Taking Your AI Applications Online focuses on publishing and maintaining applications and websites. Participants will learn how to use GitHub and Cloudflare to store their code, publish their projects, and deploy updates. They will also explore how to use ChatGPT to request changes and continue improving their applications.

Designed for faculty, staff, business professionals, and community members, this class helps participants develop practical tools for their work. Participants will work toward leaving with a functioning application, a published website, and a repeatable process for creating and updating future projects.

What to bring: A laptop with reliable internet access, permission to download and run files, and an active ChatGPT Plus subscription. Free GitHub and Cloudflare accounts will be used. Optional exercises using the OpenAI API require a separate account with billing enabled; API usage is billed separately from a ChatGPT subscription.
