Basic Life Support Initial and Update teaches the 2020 American Heart Association Guidelines. It is recommended that you take an update every two years. This 4 hour course covers the initial management of a cardiac arrest in the adult/child/infant, proper use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) in the adult/child/infant as well as respiratory arrest, & airway obstruction in the adult, child & infant. Participants have the opportunity to practice skills with an instructor before performing a practical evaluation. You will also be expected to take an open resource exam. Books are allowed in this exam. With successful completion of both the practical & written tests, you will receive a current AHA card.

- Latecomers will not be admitted to class.
