THE PEDIATRIC ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT update course is based on scientific evidence from the 2020 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC. The goal of the PALS course is to aid the pediatric healthcare provider in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently & effectively manage critically ill infants & children, resulting in improved outcomes. Skills taught include recognition & treatment of infants & children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest; the systematic approach to pediatric assessment; effective respiratory management; defibrillation & synchronized cardioversion; intraosseous access & fluid bolus administration; & effective resuscitation team dynamics.
- You will receive an e-mail with pre-course materials and instructions on completing the pre-course work approx 2-3 weeks prior to the start of class. PLEASE NOTE: the American Heart Association REQUIRES that pre-course work be finished before taking the class.
The 2020 Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider Manual is required for this class.
