Join OLLI on an overnight trip to visit sites of the Civil War: Antietam Battlefield and Harpers Ferry. You will be exploring the battlefield with Dr. Carol Reardon, a noted military historian and perennial favorite OLLI instructor. You also will hear a talk on the historical significance of Harpers Ferry by Dr. Thomas Clemens, an authority on the Civil War activities in the region.

Itinerary:
Tuesday, September 24

7:30 am
Depart from Fullington Garage (near University Park
Airport). Free parking on-site. Stop for brunch en route at Cracker Barrel Restaurant, at your expense.

12:30-4:00 pm
Tour of Antietam Battlefield with Carol Reardon.

4:30 pm
Arrive at Clarion Inn Harpers Ferry for overnight stay.

6:30 pm
Dinner at White Horse Tavern, Clarion Inn.

7:15 pm
Harpers Ferry presentation by Thomas G. Clemens

Wednesday, September 25

Morning
Breakfast at Clarion Inn (included)

10:00 am
Depart for downtown Harpers Ferry.
Explore and shop on your own.

4:00 pm
Depart for State College. Expected arrival 7:00 pm.
