Join us at the Sustainability Experience Center to learn about Penn State's nine-acre site that hosts a variety of sustainability research projects. You will see and discuss issues of sustainability in the MorningStar Solar house, the Eco-Machine, our Windstream wind turbine, and tree plots being studied by drone.

The Sustainable Experience Center is coordinated by the Sustainability Institute, lies on the edge of Penn State’s University Park campus and provides a living laboratory for students, faculty, and the community to research and learn about sustainability. The site provides an ideal location to explore food, energy, water, land and community systems. The site is home to the campus Community Garden and five ongoing research and outreach projects hosted by various departments and colleges in the university.

  • Park in the grass lot next to the Morningstar Solar House, located below the Medlar Field/Spikes Stadium; turn at the sign off Porter Rd. for "Center for Sustainability".

Please wear good walking shoes (close-toed shoes) and dress for the weather. Participants will be walking and standing for the course. We will spend some time outside, with limited, easy walking between projects. Masking is required for indoor portions of the tour.
