In a series of discussions, presentations, and live demonstrations targeted at a general audience, explore fascinating scientific phenomena in daily life, such as how molecules and physical principles impact daily life, the chemistry of cooking, and how computational modeling helps us to understand and improve our world. The course has been modified from fall 2022 to include a new session on the use of light to probe the world and answer scientific questions.

Instructors: The course will be taught by outstanding retired scientific educators:
Peter Jurs — Penn State chemistry professor emeritus
Bill van den Berg — retired physics instructor
Joe Keiser — Penn State teaching professor emeritus
Mark Maroncelli — Penn State professor of chemistry emeritus

Course dates are Tuesdays, April 23, 30, May 7, and 14.
