Have you ever wondered why we’re here? Well, in the Centre Region anyway. Explore how local geology and ecology shaped the history of the region and how they may influence its future. We will take an all-day, easy walking/driving loop through southern Centre and northern Huntingdon counties. The course will begin at the Penn State Outreach Building to review logistics for the day. Due to limited parking space at some of the study sites, carpooling is a necessity. Please be prepared to share or accept a ride.

Instructor: Dave Klindienst has spent a lifetime in the outdoors and 43 years teaching environmental science in the Centre Region to students of all ages

  • Meet in room 121H in the Outreach Building for a half-hour introduction/overview of the day, including driving instructions to the location(s). Dress for the weather. Long pants and long-sleeved shirts recommended. Bring a lunch and plenty of water. Rain date is scheduled for May 14.
